FY17 Interior & Environment Full Committee Bill Summary
Washington, D.C. – The Senate bill recommends $32.034 billion in discretionary funding for agencies funded by the Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill. That amount is $125 million less than the fiscal year 2016 level and $1.080 billion less than the budget request. While the bill includes important investments in national parks, tribal programs and cultural agencies, it also makes troubling cuts to the clean air and water programs and includes a number of policy riders that would roll back the nation’s core laws protecting public health and the environment.

Washington, D.C. – The fiscal year 2017 Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) Appropriations bill provides a total of $22.552 billion, including $159 million in disaster funds. This bill’s discretionary funding level is $933 million less than fiscal year 2016 and more than $2.2 billion less than the President’s request.

Washington, D.C. – The Department of Defense (DoD) Appropriations Act, 2017 provides $574.6 billion in base and Overseas Contingency Operation (OCO) funding, compared to $572.9 billion enacted in fiscal year 2016 and $576.5 billion in the President’s budget request. The base budget appropriation is $516 billion with $58.6 billion for Overseas Contingency Operations of the Department of Defense.
The Subcommittee’s allocation conforms to the spending levels set by the Bipartisan Budget Act and provides adequate resources to protect America’s national defense needs, both at home and overseas.

Of this total, $48.07 billion is for discretionary programs, including $163 million for Coast Guard overseas contingency operations (OCO) and a $6.7 billion cap adjustment for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Relief Fund. After excluding these two adjustments, the net discretionary appropriation for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is $41.201 billion, $246 million more than fiscal year 2016 and $578 million more than the President’s request.
