Cochran Statement on Five-Day Continuing Resolution

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) today released the following statement on Senate passage of a five-day continuing resolution to fund the government at current levels through Dec. 16:

“This short-term funding resolution allows time for the House and Senate to complete work on pending appropriations legislation. Our negotiations are progressing steadily, and I expect that Senators will soon be able to consider a bill that will meet the funding needs for our national defense and other priorities.”

The stopgap measure now heads to the House of Representatives for approval.
